Who is your Math and Science Teacher?!?
I was born and raised in West Branch, Michigan. I graduated from Ogemaw Heights in 2001, and started off college in the fall. I struggled to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I excelled at math and science, but I wasn't sure what career I could pursue that would give me the satisfaction that I hoped for. After changing my major a number of times, I finally came to the realization that teaching children would give me more satisfaction in life than any other career that I was thinking of going into. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2009 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Chemistry. I decided to take a teaching job down in Greenville, South Carolina when I was fresh out of college. After two years of teaching high school chemistry, geometry and physical science, I realized that it was time to try and find work that was closer to home. I was hired at Ogemaw Heights High School for the following year to teach chemistry and physical science. After three years at the Heights, I was looking to try my hand at something that I have never done before. I was lucky enough to be able to transfer to the middle school to be able to teach both math and science. This will be my 10th year teaching, and I have never been more excited to tackle my forth year at SMS!

OHHS Senior Trip Chaperones 2013
Louise Hofer, Tim Hansen, Kristen Murdock, Chris Powley & Karen Hayes
Ogemaw Heights has been doing a senior trip to Florida for almost 20 years. While we were in Florida, we went to Universal Studios, Busch Gardens, Sea World, a water park and saw some amazing shows! The kids were fantastic and we all had a great time.
